1. Introduction
Stumpy is an Android lumberjack idle game published by an independent developer (hereafter "we" or "the publisher"). This privacy policy describes what data is collected, how it is used, and what rights you have over it.

2. Data stored locally on your device
Stumpy saves your progress exclusively on your device. This data is never transmitted to our servers. It includes:
- Your game progress (resources, upgrade levels, buildings, employees, map expansion)
- Your settings (sound, music) and your character's customization
- Counters needed for optional ads (for example the number of bonus ads watched today)
- The time of your last session, used to compute offline earnings
The "Reset the game" option in Settings permanently deletes your progress. Uninstalling the app deletes all of this data.
3. Advertising (Google AdMob)
Stumpy offers optional rewarded video ads (for example to double production for a while, to extend offline earnings, to unlock a node early or to unlock a cosmetic item), served by Google AdMob. No ad is ever shown automatically: you must explicitly accept an offer to watch one.
To serve and measure these ads, Google's Mobile Ads SDK may process an advertising identifier and technical data about your device (device model, OS version, coarse location derived from IP, ad interaction data). On first launch, a consent form (Google's User Messaging Platform, "UMP") is shown where applicable under GDPR, letting you choose whether to allow personalized advertising; you can change this choice at any time in Settings. See Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services for details.
4. Purchases (Google Play Billing)
The "Support me" screen offers optional one-time donations and a monthly subscription, processed entirely by Google Play Billing. Stumpy never sees or stores your payment details (card number, billing address, etc.) — these are handled directly by Google Play under its own privacy notice. The app only receives confirmation of whether a purchase or subscription is active.
5. External links
The "Support me" screen also contains links that open in your browser or in Google Play (rating the app, Buy Me a Coffee). Those services have their own privacy policies; Stumpy sends them no data.
6. Data we do not collect
Stumpy does not collect:
- Your name, email address, or any personally identifying information
- Your GPS location
- Photos, contacts or media files
- Your payment details (handled entirely by Google Play, see section 4)
The app has no user account, requires no sign-up and has no server of its own.
7. Android permissions used
- INTERNET — needed to serve ads (section 3) and process purchases (section 4). The game itself works offline.
- ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE — required by the Google Mobile Ads SDK to check network availability before requesting an ad.
No other system permission is requested.
8. Communication security
All of the app's network communication (ads, purchases) is carried out exclusively over HTTPS, to Google's infrastructure.
9. Sharing data with third parties
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third party ourselves. Two third-party services process data, each under its own privacy policy:
- Advertising data processed by Google AdMob when you choose to watch a rewarded ad (section 3) — see Google's privacy policy.
- Payment data processed by Google Play Billing when you make a purchase (section 4) — see Google Play's privacy notice.
10. Your rights (GDPR)
We hold no personal data about you. Your game progress stays on your device and you can delete it at any time (see section 2). Regarding advertising consent collected via Google's consent form (section 3), and regarding purchases processed by Google Play (section 4), please refer to Google's own privacy controls, since we do not control that data ourselves. For any question, contact us at mfodevhub@gmail.com.
11. Data retention
Local data is kept on your device until you reset the game or uninstall the app.
12. Children
Stumpy is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors.
13. Changes to this policy
We reserve the right to update this privacy policy. In case of a substantial change, the "last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
